he weather is finally warm and sunny again like the Valley is used to and what better way to celebrate than with Sunset Live, McAllen’s outdoor concert series happening Saturday from 5 to 10 p.m. at McAllen Convention Center Oval Park. Admission to the the family and pet friendly, music-filled event is FREE.
“Sunset Live is held every second Saturday of the month from April-June & October-December, and focuses on on promoting the arts and giving up and coming artists/musicians a different type of exposure outside of the local bar scene. The event has grown from 1,500 attendees to nearly 4,000, attributed mainly to social media and word-of-mouth.
With the native palm trees and foliage as the backdrop, Sunset Live offers a big city feel with the uniqueness of a Rio Grande Valley sunset to set it apart from all the others. Grab a cozy blanket and a lawn chair and experience the perfect sunset serenade at the Sunset Live Outdoor Concert series,” says the events Facebook page.
There will be food trucks, an artisan market and live music from the Tony Longoria Band (@ 6:30), The Zoltars (@7:30) and SMiiLE (@ 8:45).
Upcoming Sunset Live Outdoor Concert Series events are set for June 9. Keep up with all things Sunset Live by following their social media accounts @SunsetLiveMcAllen on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
